Dismantling for deconstruction and demolition

When equipment is too big to be evacuated from a building or to be transported, we disassemble and/or cut it into reasonably sized pieces. We plan the cuts to optimize transportation costs. Transformer and wagon dismantling are two good examples of how we optimize transportation costs.

Dismantling for re-assembly

Equipment dismantling can also refer to its methodical and annotated disassembly for future reassembly at another site.

A good example is the Démex project that involved pylon dismantling in the middle of the St. Lawrence River. The top part of one of the pylons was marked, disassembled, and then reassembled in a museum. The bottom parts of the pylons were also dismantled to protect the fluvial environment and to be recovered for recycling.

For more complex projects such as paper machine dismantling, Démex partners with specialized companies. The methodical disassembly and marking of highly technological equipment require specific expertise.
